About this deal

The 2000s in the Cranford Collection focuses on this as yet unexplored decade, which has still to be fully defined. An early precursor to the Cranford style, this beautifully bound prose and verse translation of the story of the Volsungs was limited to 750 copies. The most expensive titles (and usually hardest to find) include Grimms’ Household Series, Tales of the Punjab, Rip van Winkle, Reynard the Fox and Gulliver’s Travels. Bring a touch of French country chic into your kitchen, office, dining and living rooms with this classic. A satirical tale of sharp social commentary, as observed through the adventures of Lemuel Gulliver to fantastical lands.

Housed in a townhouse in Regent’s Park is the Cranford Collection of around 700 artworks, which has been built by Muriel and Freddy Salem since 1999. Distributed over four floors are large-format works by Christopher Wool or Albert Oehlen, alongside works by young stars like Valerie Snobeck and Alex Israel. The Cranford writing bureau is part of a French Country inspired range consisting of living, dining and office furniture. Jane Eyre and Rochester Proposal Scene Shirt Design: Charlotte Brontë tells Jane's timeless tale of self-discovery, purpose, and love. But domestic peace is constantly threatened in the form of financial disaster, imagined burglaries, tragic accidents, and the reapparance of long-lost relatives.Personalised advertising may be considered a “sale” or “sharing” of information under California and other state privacy laws, and you may have a right to opt out. Jane Austen, the Brontë sisters, Louisa May Alcott… Timeless Classics offers you a superb selection of novels that revolutionised the female universe. Beyond their visual allure, these bindings at the time were also a symbol of affordability – they were produced with a desire to make beautiful books accessible to a wider audience, ensuring that more readers could appreciate the elegance of 1890s design. In 2011, Anne Pontégnie took over Andrew’s role as curator, and together we naturally evolved, rationalizing our acquisitions and taking responsibility for the collection management necessary to ensure its sustainability. One of the defining characteristics of the Cranford Series bindings is their lavish use of intricate gilt stamping on the front covers and spines, often featuring decorative motifs and elaborate patterns, and gilt page edges .

About a 100 works are on display in London, some on loans to exhibitions, another 100 going to Montpellier in October for our exhibition at MO. I'm With The Banned, Banned Books Shirt, Banned Books Sweatshirt, Unisex Super Soft Premium Graphic T-Shirt,Reading Shirt. Often mistaken for the Cranford Series, these derivative-style volumes may be of a slightly different size, but they possess a similar charm and appeal ( particularly the Dobson collections), so I have included a good many of these titles in a separate list below as they form part of the broader landscape of these delightful late 19th-century publishers bindings and mingle attractively together on a shelf. Besides collecting A-listers, the Salem collectors are open to collaborations and are recently hosting an artist residency with Camden Arts Centre, which allowed them to share time with younger artists. CRANFORD: This witty and poignant story, starring the Oscar-winning Judi Dench, follows the small absurdities and major tragedies in the lives of the people of Cranford, as they are besieged by forces that they can't withstand.

Judi Dench plays Miss Matty Jenkyns, whose hopes and rebellious spirit were crushed when, as a young woman, she was forced to give up Mr Holbrook (Michael Gambon), the man she loved. They have opened up a circulation in a house that was truncated into parts, they have brought a better light and created perspectives from every room that create great dialogue between artworks. The Cranford wide sideboard is part of a French Country inspired range consisting of living, dining and office furniture. I believe that living in London at the beginning of the years 2000s when contemporary art was so present and alive in the city encouraged us to participate.

In its day, Jane Austen’s most famous work stood as an argument against marriages of convenience and social conventions that measured a woman’s value by the size of her dowry. This interpretation of Elizabeth Gaskell's books is well produced and extremely well acted by a very talented cast.
